Added insights during smolt production

With phase-adapted technology, you can measure fish as early as the pre-vaccination stage. This enables you to use data - such as weight distribution -for smarter sorting and group selection ahead of vaccination. By collecting data at the smolt or freshwater site, farmers gain a reliable foundation for assessing optimal net mesh size and feed strategy before transferring fish to sea.

Optimizing transport of the fish

By collecting data and biological insight both at the smolt or post smolt facility and upon sea site arrival, you gain valuable information about what happens to the fish during transport. This added insights allows you to identify stress factors, evaluate transport conditions, and make informed adjustments – ensuring safer, more optimized transfer of fish between production phases.

Developed together with customers

Data collection and insight generation at smolt stage

Our ability to analyse and measure fish at the smolt stage was developed in direct response to customer demand. Through close collaboration with hatcheries and freshwater sites, we have adapted our camera technology and refined our algorithms to handle much smaller fish—under very different conditions than those typically found at sea sites. This ensures accurate data collection even in early production phases, where visibility, tank design, and fish behavior pose unique challenges.

The added values of smolt and post-smolt monitoring

Better insights without the stress of manually handling fish, improved welfare, and early detection of potential issues – these are just some of the advantages of using our system to monitor fish during the smolt and post-smolt phases. Read our article to learn more about the added value our system provides.
